Cheers! A New Year Begins
As we begin a new year, we’ll also begin a new theme. Each month will feature a “Did You Know” photo and commentary that highlights something learned while traveling.
Let’s start the year with a toast.
Lest you think 8-year-old Logan is toasting champagne, he is not.
Instead his glass holds Switzerland’s national beverage, Rivella. A carbonated drink the color of ginger ale, Rivella is made from whey, a protein-containing by-product of cheese making.
Rivella is another example of the Swiss penchant for careful use of resources.
Rarely exported, you must travel to Switzerland to taste Rivella. Or befriend a Swiss who can ship it to you.
Worth a trip? Of course. Any reason is a great excuse to visit Switzerland.
